ROD SMITH

A native of Washington State, Rod got his first guitar in 1982, and began playing professionally in 1988. He travelled the West Coast and Midwest throughout the 90's in various pop / top 40 / variety bands, covering a wide variety of musical styles. He settled in the Twin Cities in 2000 and played in a number of original and tribute bands, including Case Murphy, the Jenny Case band, and the notorious Controversy with members of Boogie Wonderland.

He has earned an Associate's Degree in audio recording from Hennepin Technical College, and has been a professional guitar instructor for nearly 10 years, having taught at the Music Shop and Virtuoso's Music Academy. With his electronics background, Rod found a position as a repair tech at Savage Audio in 2006, specializing in tube guitar amplifiers. That's where he met Pat, and is now happy to be part of the Lamont Cranston Band.
